What is a third party?

A third party may be a supplier, business partner, customer, etc. with whom data is shared or disclosed. Examples of relevant third parties could be Microsoft, Google, The tax authorities etc.

Create new third party

Click on ‘New third party’ here to create a new one. You can fill in master data for the new third party and click Save.


Write the name of the third party e.g. “Amazon”


Describe what the third party does. The purpose is to let relevant people in the organisation know, who receives information in different areas of the organisation and to have one central place to document relevant information of each third party. This is necessary in order to identify main risks and to make better priorities related to information security.


Document the address of the third party (the legal entity).
